Singapore Airlines Airbus A380 First Class Awards Wide Open, March

At the end of October, I wrote about the amazing award space for Singapore Airlines Suites, even on the New York JFK - Frankfurt route, which is extremely rare. I showed two award seats that were available on most days in both directions, and that space was available towards the end of the airline schedule.

Tim P. says that Singapore has opened the door on this route from the end of March through August. There are 3 seats available at the saver level for a couple of days, which I have never seen before.

The October 28 discussion of these seats was original.

Singapore Airlines does not allow its partners like United and Air Canada to use its award space. Singapore is a partner of all of the major bank transferable currencies, making it easy to get KrisFlyer miles.

Finding two first class awards on an A380 aircraft can be difficult. There are a number of routes where the A380 first class awards are available for two passengers. On one of the toughest routes, New York JFK, it is true.

There is space for 2 passengers in New York JFK in first class in September 2022, using Singapore miles.

There is space for two passengers in Singapore in first class in September 2022, using Singapore miles.

You can book on these routes until mid-October, but it's as far out as you can get. Singapore charges 86,000 miles per way for New York and no fuel surcharges. They charge 125,000 miles each way for just Singapore. If you book New York JFK to Singapore, you will get 132,000 miles each way.

The ability to take down the wall between seats for a double bed is something that Singapore has been able to do with the A380s. I think this is one of the best first class products in the world.

The New York JFK to Singapore route may be more likely to have the old first class suites than not, since the current scheduling shows the New York JFK to Singapore route.

The new first class check out availability Hong Kong - Singapore in September 2022, is a less expensive route. Each way, Singapore charges 40,500 miles.

There is good availability between Singapore and several other places.

If you transfer more than one million miles into Singapore Airlines, you will get Star Alliance Gold status, which will allow you to get first class seats on the A380, even if you fly domestically in the U.S.

We don't know what travel restrictions will look like a year from now, so book at your own risk, and transfers from most programs take 12 to 48 hours to appear.

A reader asked about other 'fifth freedom routes' between the U.S. and Europe after I wrote about wide open availability for two first class Suites awards on the Singapore Airlines New York JFK - Frankfurt flight. They wanted to fly between the US and Europe.

If you have Singapore Airlines miles first class awards, it's easy to book on their old product from Los Angeles and the new A380s. The A380 doesn't touch the U.S., so it's fine.

Alaska Airlines and Singapore Airlines are partners. Alaska has more award space than other airlines. Business and first class long haul awards on Singapore Airlines are usually not available to partner airlines like United and Avianca. Alaska is able to book.
