The district attorney said in a press release that the judge sentenced Alan to 10 years of imprisonment and three years of supervised release.

In October, a jury found Swinney guilty of 11 criminal charges, including assault, after prosecutors said he shot a man in the eye with a paintball gun, sprayed protesters with bear mace and pointed a loaded revolver at them.

According to The Oregonian, Moawad said that Swinney didn't show remorse for his actions during his trial and sentencing.

According to a press release, prosecutors called the Texas resident a white nationalist and argued that he used social media to boost white nationalist and violent messages.

During trial, his attorneys argued that he had acted in self-defense.

The prosecutor told the Oregonian that this day has been a long time coming. He was looking for a fight. He knew he would get the fight.

The key background.

The protests led to 12 criminal charges against Swinney, who was arrested in September 2020. Videos of a man pointing a gun at a crowd of people have been circulating on social media. The right-wing group that prosecutors described as a former Proud Boy have distanced themselves from him, though he has a tattoo on his arm. George Floyd died after a Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for more than eight minutes while detaining him for using a fake $20 bill.

There is a structure called the Tangent.

In September 2020, a woman named Megan McLain sued Swinney, saying he shot her in the chest with a paintball gun while she was watching the protest. According to Associated Press, the woman's lawsuit was settled without Swinney having to pay any monetary damages, after he admitted to hitting her.
