Mark Mitchell is going to Duke.

According to Joe Tipton of On3 Recruits, Mitchell said he committed to Duke because of his relationship with Jon Scheyer, who is the Blue Devil's associate head coach and will take over as head coach next season after Mike Krzyzewski retires.

Mitchell is a small forward in the recruiting class of 2022.

UCLA and Missouri were both high on his list, but Duke beat them out to get the native of Kansas. Mitchell was offered a scholarship by Kansas and North Carolina.

Mitchell has a good size for his position at all levels, with the ability to dominate smaller forwards in college. He can finish above the rim with regularity if he has his long arms.

Mitchell should be able to match up with players at a variety of positions if he has the physical tools.

Sunrise Christian head coachluke Barnwell said of the prospect that he was an " extremely gifted basketball player." He will have the ability to change the game.

Mitchell took official visits to Duke, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Missouri and UCLA after gaining the attention of many of the top programs.

The young recruit still has room to improve, but he has the talent to make an immediate impact with his new team. Look for him to get playing time early in his freshman year and become a difference-maker on both ends of the court.

Mitchell should help Duke get off to a great start as the program tries to remain a national title contender.
