Japanese skate team TIGHTBOOTH has brought on Hiroshi Fujiwara's fragment imprint for its latest project, following up its previous KILLER-BONG collaboration, with a slew of casual staples. TIGHTBOOTH was founded in 2005 by Osaka-born professional rider Shinpei Ueno and has since become well known in Tokyo's skating communities.
This project is made up of five distinctive oversized silhouettes: a hoodie with dropped shoulders, baggy tee, big fanny pack, billowing parka and a thin trucker jacket. Each style comes in palettes of white, black, olive and light blue that are glossed with stark co-branding - "TIGHTBOOTH PRODUCTION" and "FRAGMENT DESIGN." One graphic that recurs throughout the range is the "50/50" motif, which references the skate trick, while fragment's twin-lightning bolt logo appears through-and-through.
Some of the pieces incorporate hi-tech materials, too. The insulated Monster Parka uses a durable nylon shell inspired by textiles used in the PCU LEVEL 7 jacket used by the US Army Special Forces. Other pieces like the two-layer trucker jackets, hoodies and T-shirts, with its function-focused range, round up the capsule, while pieces like the oversized fanny pack round up the range.
The fragment design x TTIGHTBOOTH capsule will be available on October 26 at a special site and a pop-up shop held on the dedicated site tbprfragment.com.
Elsewhere, A Bathing Ape and Outdoor Products have released a series of travel-friendly bags.
