The Omicron variant is spreading faster in the UK than in South Africa.
A scientist advising the government said that the UK will see a large wave of omicron cases and deaths in the next few months. The variant of omicron has been around for a while in the UK and may be spreading more quickly than in South Africa, according to John Edmunds of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
He said at the Royal Society of Medicine that there would be a large wave of omicron over the next two months.
