Award-winning co-op gaming experiences are made by Josef Fares. He dropped some f-bombs at The Game Awards. The Game of the Year award was the subject of a passionate and expletive-sprinkled acceptance speech by Fares.

The moment that made him into the Game Awards Hall of Fame was the subject of both of his f-bombs. After accepting the award and making his speech, Fares recalled the journey from his moment to now.

The Game Awards is getting better, so the Oscars got fucked when I said fuck the Oscars.

It Takes Two was nominated for several awards and won two of them. Since The Game Awards is a big industry trailer that sometimes masquerades as an awards show, the two wins were quickly announced and dismissed. At one point during the show, it seemed that the announcements were designed to keep Fares away from the mic. Host Geoff Keighley mentioned not wanting Fares near one in case he made a repeat of his foul mouth.

There would have been a lot to curse about. According to Eurogamer, Hazelight Studios was hit with a trademark claim from Take-Two Interactive and was forced to abandon its ownership of the It Takes Two name because it contained the words "take" and "two" together. The aggressive move would have been good for Fares, but his acceptance speech was sincere.

Even though the story missed the mark with its messaging, he thanked his team for their work on the co-op experience. If you don't have children, go get them, said Fares as he dedicated the award to his children. They are the best thing that can happen.
