The Matrix Awakens, an interactive demo for the new Unreal Engine 5, is available to download for free on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
The demo was written and directed by Lana Wachowski, and features two of the main characters from The Matrix universe, Neo and Trinity. It's a companion for the movie, The Matrix Resurrections, which is coming to theatres on December 22.

Most of what you see in the video has been rendered in real time, and it all looks incredibly real, but there will be moments in which you won't be able to discern whether you're watching a real-life movie or a game. An open-world city full of artificial intelligence-controlled characters and vehicles makes the world more believable because they make different decisions based on what's happening around them. There are many explosions to show you all the effects that the UE5 can handle.
