The live-action Halo TV show looks extremely expensive in its newest trailer

The first full trailer for the live-action series was released by Paramount Plus at the Game Awards, ahead of the show's streaming debut in 2022.

Jen Taylor will reprise her role from the games as Master Chief's artificial intelligence companion, Cortana.

The show will take place in the universe of the Halo games and see humanity face off against the Covenant, but the trailer doesn't give much of a clue as to what to expect. It is not clear if the games will be adapted directly or if they will tell their own story within the world of the franchise. The trailer mostly focuses on a few quick shots of the cast, including Natascha McElhone as the creator of both Cortana and the Spartan super-solider program.

The original set to air on Showtime was announced back in the summer of 2018. The popular franchise was shifted to a streaming exclusive on the recently relaunched Paramount Plus service, where it could help draw in new subscribers.

There is no precise release date for the movie, but it will debut on Paramount Plus in 2022.
