Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri tests positive for COVID-19, he says

Toronto Raptors vice-chairman and president Masai Ujiri has tested positive for a drug.

Ujiri said he has received a booster shot.

He was at a Giants of Africa event on Sunday and learned that some of the guests had positive COVID-19 tests. Ujiri said that the gala was in compliance with public health guidance, including instructions to wear masks when not eating or drinking.

Ujiri is in self-isolation for 10 days and is monitoring his symptoms.

He said in his statement that they don't want to live in fear of the virus, but they do want to fight it. We'll defeat it together.

The Raptors and Pacers canceled practice because of an abundance of caution.

The Raptors play the Knicks on Friday, after losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday.

There has been a spike in the entries into the protocols with the NBA requiring all teams to test for performance enhancing drugs after Thanksgiving.
