Incarnate Word quarterback, Cameron Ward, has entered the transfer portal.
Ward won the Jerry Rice Award as the best player in the spring season at the private school in San Antonio, Texas.
He threw for 4,648 yards and 47 touchdown in the fall, and had 10 interceptions, as the Indians made the second round of the playoffs. He has school records for career passing yards and touchdown passes.
The offensive player of the year in the Southland Conference was Ward, who led Incarnate Word to a 10-3 season and a title.
He threw for 610 yards and seven touchdown in a win over Southeastern Louisiana.
"This season has been amazing!" Ward wrote. It has been a blessing to be apart of something great, from the highest ranking in program history, to the most wins in program history, to the conference champion, to the first playoff game.
The 6-3, 220-pound junior, who will have three seasons of eligibility remaining, said in his post that he was "facing much uncertainty" with the departure of head coach Eric Morris.
Washington State has a new offensive coach in Morris, a former assistant under Kliff.
