Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports was told by the Arizona Coyotes that they will not be evicted from the arena because they have paid off their tax bills.
The city of Glendale told the Coyotes they would be locked out of their home rink if they didn't pay their state and city taxes, according to a report.

The Arizona Department of Revenue filed a tax liens notice against the team in June of 2020. The franchise made a statement to The Athletic on Wednesday that said the incident was an unfortunate human error.
Initial indications are that it appears to be the result of an unfortunate human error, as we have already launched an investigation to determine how this could have happened. We deeply regret the hassle this has caused.

We will make sure that the Arizona Coyotes are current on all of their bills by Thursday morning. Immediate steps will be taken to make sure that nothing like this can ever happen again.

Even though the franchise has paid their taxes, they will still be looking for a new arena after the 2021-22 season because the City of Glendale opted out of its joint lease agreement. The two sides had rocky negotiations before the notice came.
A new 16,000-seat rink has been proposed by the Coyotes. The space for hotels, apartments, a theater, and shopping and dining areas is part of the proposal.
The America West Arena in downtown Phoenix was the site of the Coyotes' first game in 1996.
The team is last in the division with a 5-18-2 record.
