The second season of the Basketball Africa League will start in March of 2022, according to sources.
12 club teams from 12 African countries will play games in Cairo and Kigali in the year 2022. The BAL season will expand to 38 games, with 15 games in Dakar from March 5-15, 15 games in Cairo from April 9-19, and an eight-game playoffs and BAL Finals in Kigali from May 21-28.
The second season of BAL is expected to be announced Thursday in Egypt. The inaugural BAL champion, Egypt's Zamalek, is expected to be in attendance.
The first BAL championship was held in Kigali on May 30. Fans in 215 countries and territories were able to watch the BAL championship game. J. Cole was a member of the team last season.
The 12 BAL teams next season will be league winners from 12 African countries.
The Washington Wizards' practice facility is expected to be the site of the BAL's free-agent camp in January.
