I wouldn't have believed you if you said that Air Belgium would be around in 2022. It looks like that is what is happening.
Air Belgium is launching cargo flights.
Air Belgium is looking for pilots for the Boeing 74B. The airline is expected to get three of the Boeing 747-8s as early as early 2022. The sad news is that the planes will only be used for cargo flights.
I don't know where Air Belgium is getting these 747-8s. Presumably the airline is buying actual cargo rather than just flying passenger Boeing 747-8s. The cargo version of the plane has a smaller upper deck than the plane itself.
The passenger version of the 747-8 hasn't yet been retired by the three airlines that operate it.
I think the livery of the 747-8 will look pretty spiffy, as the airline has one of the cooler liveries out there.
Air Belgium has an A330-900neo.
What is going on with Air Belgium?
I provided play-by-play coverage of Air Belgium when it launched in the year of 2018, because it was interesting to me. I was able to review the business class experience before the service was canceled, because the airlinenywayanyday launched flights between Charleroi and Hong Kong.
Air Belgium has a business class.
What is going on with Air Belgium?
The airline has a fleet of six aircraft, including four A330s, one A330-900neo, and two A340s.
The airline currently flies passengers from the cities of Brussels, Charleroi, and Pointe-a-Pitre to other destinations.
The rest of the carrier's operations are focused on cargo.
The bottom line.
Air Belgium will only operate Boeing 757s for cargo operations. Air Belgium was supposed to only operate passenger flights between Charleroi and Asia, but the business model has changed.
I am curious to see where Air Belgium's Boeing 747-8s will come from, and if they will sport the full Air Belgium livery. If Air Belgium could start passenger flights, there would be a lot of pre-loved jumbo jets out there.
What do you think about Air Belgium buying planes?
The tip of the hat to him.
