The National Bureau of Statistics said fresh vegetable prices in China increased by 30.6% in November from a year ago.
The October gains followed a year-on-year rise as floods and other extreme weather hit farms. The bureau said the supply of vegetables increased in November, but prices were still up on a monthly basis.
There are signs that rapidly rising prices and stagnant economic activity might drag down growth.
Other food prices in China increased by 1.6% last month, as a result of a global surge. The international food price index increased by 27.3% in November, the highest since June 2011.
In China, the price of eggs increased by 20.1% in November from a year ago, while the price of freshwater fish increased by 18%.
The price of pork in November was 32.7% lower than it was a year ago. Pork prices increased from October.
The consumer price index, which is highly sensitive to pork prices, rose less than expected in November.
The producer price index increased by 12.9%, beating expectations. The index climbed 13.5% in October.
The producer price index has risen by a record amount this year.
