Lawrence said he let his feelings be known to his coaches because he didn't agree with the lack of playing time for Robinson.

Lawrence told reporters that he sees the whole picture and that he is the one who is out. "James is one of our best players and he's got to be on the field and we addressed it, and I feel like we're in a good spot and the whole team, we're good."

Robinson was off the field for 16 and 20 consecutive plays in the past two games for Jacksonville, according to Michael DiRocco. Lawrence didn't know what went into those decisions, but he felt the need to let the team know that Robinson's absence wasn't beneficial.

Lawrence doesn't know everything that went into it. I'm playing the game and things happen on the sideline. I don't like it, but I think James is one of our best players and he needs to be in the game.

I think we're all on the same page. We are going to move forward. I want James out there because I know he is a great player.

Robinson's benching against the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Rams was preceded by turnovers. Carlos Hyde was on the field for the next offensive series after he fumbled against the Rams.

Robinson has been better than Hyde this season, rushing for 678 yards and seven touchdown while averaging 4.9 yards per carry compared to Hyde's 251 yards, one score and 3.5 yards per carry.

Meyer said the decisions on Robinson's playing time were made by the running backs coach. Meyer didn't disagree with the benchings.

Meyer said you bench yourself. If you lay the ball on the ground and come out for a few plays, it's up to the position coach to put you back in. That's not just James. That's who. You come when the ball goes on the ground.

Jacksonville will be looking to end a four-game losing streak in a road game against Tennessee on Sunday.
