Congressman mockingly mentions 'Mongoose Coin' at cryptocurrency hearing so someone launched Mongoose Coin

If you had a Congressional hearing about cryptocurrencies, you will be able to use a new coin on your Bingo card.

On Wednesday, the U.S. House Committee on Financial Services held a hearing titled "Digital Assets and the Future of Finance: Understanding the Challenges and Benefits of Financial Innovation in the United States." The hearing was about cryptocurrencies.

The CEOs of several companies in the cryptocurrencies industry answered questions from members of Congress about the future of the industry, regulatory concerns, and more.

One House member's questioning will likely be remembered after the hearing.

Brad Sherman, a Democrat from California, said that the number one threat to cryptocurrencies was. There's a chance thatBitcoin could be displaced by ether, Doge, and Hamster coin.

He joked that he just made up the idea of what the coin would do to the coin.

Now that it does exist, it's time to get your coins.

The creation of a new coin was immediately after Rep. Sherman's comments. Within a few hours, the market cap of the coin was $2 million and it was up 320,000 percent from launch.

The congressman's comments made Hamster coin rise as well. He acknowledged during the hearing that HamsterCoin existed before Rep. Sherman's comments, even though he initially thought he was making that one up.

Rep. Sherman didn't stick the landing. He was trying to make a point. The U.S. dollar may be the standard global currency, but the national currencies of other countries will still have value, even if the U.S. dollar is the standard global currency. Alternative coins flop, become worthless, and disappear, as they have done time and time again.

Congressional hearings are a great place to put internet meme. Remember how many times "Senator, we run ads" was said on social media? What has more potential than old politicians explaining something to young people?

And, of course, meme coins are a thing. Dogecoin is the most well known example after its value came close to a dollar earlier this year.

A meme coin was created out of a Congressional hearing.

It's ridiculous. Some people may lose a lot of money because of this funny meme, but at the same time, all signs point to the coin being a classic pump and dump.

I don't know if I will laugh or cry.
