After last week's win against the New Orleans Saints, the Dallas Cowboys running back had an iwth that showed his ailing right knee is healing up and going in the right direction.

The Washington Football Team will face off against the NFC East leader on Sunday at FedEx Field, and it will be a crucial game.

"It's football, you're never going to be 100%; it might be the first day of camp," he said. It's a tough game. I take a lot of pride in being out there. You will have to take me off the field.

Since the Week 4 win against the Carolina Panthers, the injury has bothered him, but he said it is not a bone bruise. He said he wouldn't need surgery.

It's not making it worse by playing on it.

The Cowboys decided not to sit Elliott for more rest, but they have cut back on his snaps. The Cowboys have been conservative with the returns of players from injury. You're taking all the information. A lot of information is used. You trust the process between the player and the training staff.

Before Wednesday's practice, he rode a stationary bicycle. Tony Pollard did some resistance training off to the side during the portion of practice open to the media, but he did not practice because of a foot injury.

Pollard had a 58-yard touchdown run against the Saints a week after a 100 yard return for a score against the Las Vegas Raiders. He has a career-high in carries and runs.

Ito Smith was added to the practice squad by the Cowboys. Clement is the only other tailback on the roster.

"I think it's important to play through an injury," he said. It's late season and you get a little nicked up. Just have to figure it out.
