Some Hyatt hotel guests will be able to store their room keys in their Apple Wallets, thanks to a partnership between Apple and Hyatt. If you have an Apple Watch or an iPhone, you can use it to access your room, as well as any other areas around the hotel that require a key for entry.

Hyatt hotels will let you use your Apple Watch to open your hotel room.

Only six Hyatt hotels in the US currently support this feature, although Hyatt says it will eventually include it in hotels worldwide. The participating hotels are Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort, Hyatt Centric Key West Resort and Spa, Hyatt House Chicago / West Loop-Fulton Market, Hyatt House Dallas / Richardson, Hyatt Place Fremont / Silicon Valley, and Hyatt Regency Long Beach.

If you want to use the feature, you must have an Apple Watch that runs watchOS 8 and above. You can add your room key to your Apple wallet through the World of Hyatt app. When your room is ready for check-in, the key will display your room number. You can change your room through the app, and your key will be updated automatically. Once you have checked out, your key will stop working.

Apple showed off this feature at the conference. Users in participating states will be able to store their identification cards in their Apple wallet once launched. Georgia and Arizona were supposed to be the first states to allow residents to store their IDs on their phones.
