Russia Mocked SpaceX. Now It’s Reserved a Seat for a Cosmonaut

Russia is ready to make peace with SpaceX after years of mockery and threats.

Russia will send a cosmonaut to the International Space Station on board a Crew Dragon capsule, rather than one of its own, according to the head of the country's space agency.

The seat swap is part of a seat barter agreement, with a NASA Astronaut making the trip on board a Soyuz some time next year as well, according to senior SpaceNews writer Jeff Foust.

The two CEOs of the two companies have butted heads for a long time. The two seem to have buried the hatchet as of late. The future of space exploration is in good hands with NASA, SpaceX, and Russia ready to work together.

In October, at a press conference, he said that the experience that the company had acquired would allow them to put their cosmonauts on Crew Dragon.

The Crew Dragon, which will carry Russian and American astronauts, may be used to fly to the space station, he said.

The Crew Dragon capsule is ready for prime time after completing several missions to the International Space Station.

Will it ever replace Russia's workhorse, the Soyuz? It is looking unlikely in the short term.

The spaceship has been used to ferry astronauts since the late 1960s. The basic design of the capsule is the same as it has been for decades.

The continued existence of the International Space Station is proof that international collaboration can be beneficial.

Russia admits defeat and says it will launch astronauts on the Spacecraft.
