A 50-foot tree is engulfed in flames before being extinguished by first responders.
According to New York ABC affiliate WABC, Craig Tamanaha, 49, has been charged with eight counts of disorderly conduct and has been identified as the suspect.
WABC reported that police were looking into whether mental illness was a factor in the man's actions.
Fox News said it will rebuild the tree.
