Microsoft has released a sync app for Windows on Arm and Apple M1 Macs. The public preview of the updated OneDrive app is available as an opt-in download for both Windows on Arm and macOS, and allows the app to run on these devices.
The performance of the OneDrive sync app should improve as the process will no longer run on Windows on Arm. The jump to 64-bit is useful for users of the cloud storage service.
Microsoft has support for Apple's M1 Macs and Windows on Arm. An updated app is coming next year that will support the M1 Macs. A Dropbox spokesman said in a statement that they have an internal build for native Apple M1 support, which they are currently testing, and they are committed to releasing in the first half of 2022.
Anyone can get the preview updates from the "get OneDrive Insider preview updates before release" option in the settings, but Microsoft has not committed to a full release date.
