Facebook Will Let Employees Delay Returning To Office By A Few Months

The new date is Dec 7, 2021.

Meta, the company that used to be known as Facebook, will allow some of its employees to return to the office at a later date than when it reopens its offices in January.

Meta said it will stick to its plan of reopening offices on January 31, but will give employees three options: Work in-person, work remotely full-time or work at home for another three to five months.

The company gave different options to help employees decide how and when to return to work.

Employees entering the U.S. offices will need to be protected against Covid-19.

The headquarters of Meta is at 50% capacity and many of its U.S. offices are open with limited capacity.

The company is working with experts to make sure that the return to office transition is done safely.

There were 68,177. As of September 30, there were over 100 employees at Meta.

The spread of the delta variant caused Facebook to delay its plans to reopen its offices until January. It had previously planned to reopen offices at 50% capacity in September and October and allow most of its staff to work from home in June. The United States identified its first case of the coronaviruses omicron variant in California, where Facebook is located. Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said that the new variant has been identified in at least 19 states.

The hybrid work model was supposed to start in the US on January 10, but was pushed back last week. According to the Wall Street Journal, the office return date for Lyft will be delayed and workers will be allowed to work from home.
