According to Steve Wiseman of the News & Observer, former New York Giants offensive coordinator, and current assistant coach of the Duke team, Jason Garrett is a candidate for the head coaching position.
There are a number of candidates, including Tony Elliott and Mike Elko, to replace David Cutcliffe.
The Blue Devil's head coach, David Cutliff, decided to part ways with the team. He had a 77-97 career record.

In his 14 seasons at the helm, Cutcliffe led the Blue Devil to six bowl games, going 3-3 in those games. He led Duke to a 10-4 record and a trip to the Chick-Fil-A Bowl in his best season.

Duke has compiled a 10-25 record over the last three seasons and finished with an eight-game losing streak. The school's decision to search for a new head coach isn't surprising.

The Giants fired their offensive coach, Garrett, on Nov. 23. His first season in New York was in 2021.

He began his coaching career as a quarterbacks coach for the Miami Dolphins. He joined the Dallas Cowboys as the team's offensive coach in 2007.

Before being named interim head coach in 2010, he was an assistant head coach and the Dallas offensive coordinator.

The Cowboys' head coach from 2011 to 2019: He was the head coach of The Boys and they went to the playoffs. Dallas only made the playoffs in three of the nine seasons it was led by the man. He was named the Coach of the Year in 2016 after leading the Cowboys to a 13-3 record.

He has never coached at the collegiate level.
