Portland Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum out after CT scan reveals collapsed right lung

8:42 PM

The Portland Trail blazers announced on Tuesday night that they had a diagnosis of a pneumothorax in their guard.

A veteran had a collapsed lung and was found by a computed tomograph on Tuesday.

The team said that he will be further evaluated before a decision is made on his status. He wasn't in the lineup when Portland lost to the LA Clippers on Monday.

Portland was short-handed in that loss and couldn't make up for the loss of All-Star guard Damian Lillard and backup point guard Anfernee Simons.

On Wednesday, he did not travel with the Trail Blazers for the game at Golden State.

In 24 games this season, the 30 year old has averaged 20.6 points, 4.1 rebound and 4.5 assists. The early going has been difficult for the Blazers. The loss to the Clippers dropped their record to 11-14.
