Fresno State Bulldogs nearing deal to hire Jeff Tedford as football coach, sources say

According to sources, Jeff Tedford is close to being hired as the next football coach at Fresno State.

A source says that the final details of the deal are being worked out. Tedford stepped down from his position as coach of the University of California at Fresno State in December of 2019.

DeBoer left to become Washington's head coach. DeBoer replaced Tedford as the head coach of the team after the 2020 season.

Tedford led the team to 22 wins in his first two seasons. He was the Cal's coach from 2002 to 2012 and went 22-57. He stepped down from his job as the offensive coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to health issues.

The position was considered by William Inge, Troy Taylor, and others.
