CNN fired Cuomo on Saturday after suspending him a week ago. The move came after the New York Attorney General's office released a lot of records showing the anchor regularly offered to help Andrew Cuomo's staff with sexual harassment allegations from multiple women. CNN said Tuesday that the new records suggest Cuomo was more involved in the governor's office than previously thought. Cuomo said in a statement that his firing was disappointing. On Monday, the anchor stepped away from the radio show.

The employment attorney told reporters that a client had accused the anchor of sexual harassment. CNN fired Cuomo after she informed them of the allegation, but she was prepared to provide documentary evidence of her claim. CNN believes it already had cause to fire its former 9 pm anchor because of his conduct on Andrew Cuomo's behalf, but after new accusations emerged, they took them seriously, and saw no reason to delay taking immediate action. The Times was told that the allegations were not true.
