Publisher pulls Chris Cuomo’s upcoming book.

Chris Cuomo lost his spot on a major media platform.

On Tuesday,HarperCollins said it would not publish a book by Mr. Cuomo, who was fired by CNN over the weekend.

The book was supposed to be called "Deep Denial." It was described by the publisher as a provocative analysis of the harsh truths that the Trump years have exposed about America, and a road map of the work needed to make our ideals match reality.

A spokeswoman forHarperCollins said that they did not intend to publish the book by Cuomo.

CNN fired Mr. Cuomo on Saturday after an inquiry into his efforts to help his brother. Chris Cuomo has denied an allegation of sexual harassment brought against him by a former junior colleague at another network.

Jeff Zucker, the president of CNN, said in a virtual town hall-style meeting with employees on Tuesday that he wished Mr. Cuomo had taken a leave of absence after his interactions with the governor's aides were first revealed. The anchor refused to allow Mr. Cuomo to take a leave.

Three people who heard Mr. Zucker's remarks and requested anonymity to describe them said that he said CNN did not plan to give Mr. Cuomo any other compensation.

The people said that Mr. Zucker was comfortable with his decision to dismiss Mr. Cuomo.

A spokesman for Mr. Cuomo declined to comment on the decision.

According to the news outlet, Mr. Cuomo had hired a well-known Hollywood lawyer who represented Megyn Kelly after she was fired from NBC News. The spokesman for Mr. Cuomo declined to comment on the hiring. Mr. Freedman did not reply to the email on Tuesday.
