In an interview with the Wall Street Journal on Monday, Musk criticized the Biden administration's proposal to boost subsidies on electric vehicles, as well as his opposition to efforts by Democrats to tax billionaires.
Musk said he hoped Biden's plan wouldn't pass Congress.

Speaking at the Journal's CEO Council Summit, Musk said that he hoped the bill didn't pass and that he would just "just can this whole bill."
The billionaire said the government should get rid of all subsidies and not impede progress.
The tax credit for buying electric vehicles built by union workers in the U.S. is part of the social-spending and climate bill passed by the House.
The tax credit for electric vehicles made in non-union factories would be much smaller under the proposed law.
The bill would have spent $7.5 billion on expanding America's network of EV charging stations, but Musk dismissed it as unnecessary.
The legislation is still being considered by the Senate.
In September, Musk slammed the bill, saying it was written by Ford and the U.A.W. as they make their electric car in Mexico. The $8,000 credit on all EV's will come with an additional $4,500 tax benefit for unionized American car makers like Ford, GM and Chrysler, which could cause companies likeTesla to lose out. Musk has opposed unions in the past, and the workforce of the U.S. isn't unionized. The EV proposal is part of Biden's marqueeBuild Back Better Act which includes a number of key Democratic policies including a renewable energy push, universal preschool, paid family leave and childcare benefits. Democrats want to raise taxes on billionaires and large corporations.

During the interview, Musk once again took aim at Democrats who are pushing for taxes on billionaires. He said that it was not right to take the job of capital allocation away from people who have demonstrated great skill and give it to the government.
