These apps and websites rely on Amazon Web Services to store their data and/or provide computing power, which is something that is affecting them all. Amazon's cloud computing business is the largest business of its kind. Everything breaks when the Amazon Web Services breaks.
The Associated Press reported that users were having trouble. Amazon said that it was working towards recovery.
