Several popular services are down due to an Amazon Web Services outage.
Users trying to visit Amazon, Disney+, and Venmo are getting error messages. Amazon admitted to seeing increased error rates in the management console. The company pointed us to its service health dashboard after we contacted them. An update was posted at 8:26 a.m. It reads:
The US-EAST-1 Region is experiencing issues with the console. We are working towards recovery after we identified the root cause. The global console landing page is hosted in US-EAST-1.
DownDetector, an online tool that displays a heat map of real-time outages, shows Amazon experiencing issues throughout the United States, with the most reports coming from New York City, Los Angeles, and other major cities. The site says tens of thousands of reports have been filed.
The services that are experiencing a spike in outages include: Ring, Ring.net, and Ring.com, as well as the games League of Legend, Valorant, and PUBG.
