Slow loading or failures for a large portion of the internet are caused by problems with some of Amazon's cloud server. The company has a large network of data centers that power many of the things you interact with online, including this website.
There are reports of problems for Disney Plus streaming, and for other Amazon products. The Down Detector list of services with spikes in their reports runs off nearly any recognizable name:

The US-EAST-1 Region is experiencing issues with the console. We are working towards recovery after we identified the root cause. The global console landing page is hosted in US-EAST-1. Customers may be able to access region-specific consoles. To access the US-WEST-2 console, you have to go to Amazon.
It appears that the problems are limited to the US East 1 region, so users elsewhere may not see as many issues, and even if you are affected, it could manifest as slightly slower loading while the network reroutes your requests somewhere else. A request for comment was not immediately responded to by Amazon. As more information becomes available, we will update this post.
