The world number 19 is Emma Raducanu.

The Women's Tennis Association named British number one Emma Raducanu the newcomer of the year.

The 19-year-old burst onto the scene in 2021 by winning the US Open, making her the first qualified to win a Grand Slam title.

She became the youngest British woman to reach the Wimbledon last 16 when she made her main draw debut at a major.

She finished the year ranked 19th in the world, having started at 343rd.

Australia's world number one Ashleigh Barty was crowned the women's tennis player of the year for the second time after winning five titles in a row.

The Czech Republic's Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova were named the doubles team of the year after winning the gold medal at the Olympics and the third Grand Slam trophy as a pair.

The most improved player of the year was named by the Czech Republic, while the comeback player of the year was awarded by Spain.

In April, she said she had recovered from her Hodgkin lymphoma diagnosis and was ready to retire.
