Mark Meadows accuses former Defense Secretary Mark Esper of being 'the culprit' in major leaks to the press

In his new book, former White House Chief of Staff MarkMeadows accuses former Defense Secretary Mark Esper of being the source of several major leaks from inside the administration.

In the months to come, I would find out that the situation in the White House was worse than the whispers and leaks had suggested, according to the book "The Chief's Chief." There was a lack of coordination, covert insubordination, and a major leak to the press.

In his book about Trump's COVID diagnosis, which he has described as "fake news", he writes about his distrust of top military officials, and describes a leaker who introduced him to him early on.

"Generals were politicians at heart, and the generals around President Trump were clearly swinging toward the radical left, no matter what anyone said," he writes. I had been in several meetings where secret details had been leaked to the press, and it was clear that Mark Esper was the culprit.

He doesn't specify what kind of "secret" information he believes was leaked. He doesn't have any evidence to back up his claims.

The Espionage Act of 1917 makes leaking classified information a crime.

Representatives for Epirus, the company where Esper is a board member, did not return Insider's request for comment.

The introduction of Esper and other top military officials was used for a segue on "woke" generals.

"But there was another battle coming between President Trump and his newly 'woke' military advisors, and it had nothing to do with funding," wrote the author.

He wrote a tell-all book about his time in the Trump administration. In it, he states that he prevented Trump from sending the National Guard to crack down on anti-racism protests in the summer of 2020.
