Prime Minister Modi to launch Rs 9,600-crore development projects in poll-bound UP's Gorakhpur today



The home turf of Yogi Adityanath, who was a Parliamentarian from the region before becoming the chief minister of the state, will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister on December 7.

The projects that the Prime Minister will open today include a new plant of HURL, a hospital with 300 beds and 14 operation theatres, and a hi-tech lab at ICMR.

The visit is significant for the party because in the last assembly elections, the party won 115 seats from the eastern part of the state, including Gorakhpur, Varanasi, and Basti.

The significance of the 403 seats that the saffron party has in the state of UP is considered to be the most significant for the party in the upcoming elections.

There is a push to set the tone for high-stakes UP Assembly elections.

In the last few weeks, the government has been trying to make a push for infrastructure in the state.

The Purvanchal Expressway was inaugurated by PM Modi on November 16.

The event will be a grand one, considering the fact that PM Narendra Modi's regime has been "historic" for the growth of UP, said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

According to a recent statement from the Prime Minister's office, the Gorakhpur fertiliser plant will produce over 12 million metric tons of urea per year.

The project is expected to bring prosperity to farmers and create 20,000 jobs for youths.

The foundation stone for the revival and construction of the Gorakhpur Fertilizer Plant was laid by the Prime Minister in July 2016 and it cost around Rs 8 600 cr.

The formal announcement of the UP Assembly Polls is imminent.

The plant in Gorakhpur will be able to make 12.7 LMT per annum. It will help the farmers of the Purvanchal region and adjoining areas meet their demand for urea. It will boost the economic growth of the region.

The Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation the fully functional complex of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Gorakhpur, which was built at a cost of over Rs 1,000 crore. There is a 750-bed hospital, Medical college, Nursing college, AYUSH Building, residential accommodation for all staff, hostel accommodations for students, and other facilities at the AIIMS.

PM Modi said at the Purvanchal Expressway inauguration that the political dynasties crushed UP's hopes.

The Prime Minister will open the new building of the ICMR-Regional Medical Research Centre. The PMO statement said that the Centre has been instrumental in tackling the challenge of Japanese encephalitis.
