You won't be able to replay missions after your first trip through the story, according to Microsoft. It means you won't be able to get collectibles you missed the first time around. Infinite is the first game in the series without a way to replay a chapter.

343 Industries wants to add the feature down the line, so that might not always be the case. 343 Industries associate creative director Paul Crocker said in an interview that a date is being worked on.

When you have a more open game, it gets a lot harder to replay. We made a decision to improve the quality of the single-player campaign to make sure that it is as strong as possible so that we can add other features back in.

There are elements that carry over between full campaign replays.

I would love to tackle the entire campaign without having to play through missions again. There are some elements that do carry over between full campaign replays, such as data pads and the ability to modify certain aspects of the experience.

You will have to wait at least six months for the time-honored tradition of playing through the campaign with a friend, something you have been able to do since the very first Halo. Crocker said that the goal was to make the game usable in co-op and allow people to replay missions, but that they had to prioritize what they could get done in time.

The development of halo Infinite has been rocky. The game was supposed to be out in November 2020, but was delayed after a gameplay reveal that spawned the Craig meme. The Forge mode, which lets players develop maps and games, is missing from Infinite. 343 Industries had to address criticisms of the game's progression system and lack of dedicated playlists after launching the free-to-play MultiplayerBeta early.

The extra development time paid off for the campaign and the game, which are both pretty good. Even if we don't know how long we'll have to wait for the features, it's good for them.
