Devin Nunes retires from Congress to become CEO of Trump's new social media company

The congressman is logging in to the new media company of the president.

Multiple news outlets confirmed the offer of the CEO of Trump Media & Technology Group, after news broke that Congressman Nunes was going to retire. The statement was also released.

The congressman tried to sue the parody account, called "DevinCow", for defamation, but failed. Donald Trump probably offered the position to Rep. Nunes because of his feud with a fake cow.

It is more likely that Trump is rewarding Rep. Nunes with the position because of his experience covering for the former president and his ability to raise money.

When Trump was in the White House, Rep. Nunes was the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. The committee's investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 election and the Trump campaign's possible connections to it was undermined by the thorn in the side of the committee, who was in that position.

It's likely that he'll need to get started with TMTG when he leaves Congress.
The SEC is investigating the SPAC that plans to merge with Trump's social media company, just days after the new media company announced it has raised more than $1 billion from investors. The stock market would be opened up to these investments.

Trump Media & Technology Group was announced in October along with the debut of TRUTH Social, an upcoming social network.

Drama soon followed. The website was defaced by troll after the announcement. Trump's company was violating the license of the open-source software that TRUTH Social was based on.

The trade off that sees Trump's political opponents happy with is the fact that Rep. Nunes will likely come out ahead with a higher salary than he makes as a member of Congress. The redistricting of the area that Nunes represents did not help him.
