The US ups its multimillion-dollar rewards for 2 Sinaloa cartel leaders as another war brews for control of the cartel

The Mexican Federal Police are outside of a prison.

There is conflict within the organization.

The US recently increased its rewards for two major figures in the drug trade, and another was quietly released from jail earlier this year.

Some parts of Mexico have already seen fighting between them.

In the middle of the night on September 1, the man known as the "Scarface" was freed from a Mexican prison after serving five years for drug dealing.

Beltrn Guzmn is the son of a long-time associate of the Sinaloa Cartel.

Beltrn Guzmn, also known as "El Mochomito," is the nephew of jailed leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, "El Chapo" Guzmn.

One of the most powerful criminal groups in the world is being fought over by El Chapo's brother, his sons, his nephew, and his former peer in the group.

$5 million is now on offer for El Chapo's brother, Aureliano Guzmn loera, also known as "El Guano," and another $15 million is being offered for the man known as "Zamboda."

Old rivalries and new fighting.

The Beltrn Leyva Organization was run by Alfredo and his brothers. They began their criminal careers as an armed wing of the Sinaloa Cartel, and later on their own.

Culiacn is the capital of the state of Sinaloa. Mexican marines killed Arturo in Cuernavaca in December of 2009. Carlos was captured in Culiacn a few days after Arturo's death. In October of 2014, he was captured in the state of Guanajuato.

Beltrn Guzmn became the new boss after the arrest of the top bosses. He declared war on the Cartel.

Beltrn Guzmn was arrested in the city of Zapopan in the state of Jalisco on December 9, 2016 after fleeing a military operation to capture him. He is accused of kidnapping two of El Chapo's sons from a restaurant in Puerto Vallarta.

In the summer of 2016 El Chapo's mother's home was robbed by about 50 armed men who were led by Beltrn Guzman. They were looking to kill Aureliano.

A person who asked for anonymity to avoid reprisal said that Aureliano has an old vendetta against El Mochomito.

These people never forget. The fact that the Guzmn loeras believe they were betrayed by the Beltrns is an old problem that has not been solved.

The US has increased its reward for Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada to fifteen million dollars.

Only the Guzmn Salazars, who are El Chapo's sons, are still in Sinaloa.

Everything is calm. I know El Mochomito and he came back to his ranch after he got out. The government returned all the seized items.

Mexican authorities were unable to confirm or deny the allegations.

The US put out a $5 million reward for the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, Aureliano "El Guano" Guzmn. Aureliano is described in a 2020 report as a "notable" Sinaloa Cartel commander and as responsible for shipping large quantities of fentanyl from contacts in China.

Two official sources told Insider that Aureliano is known for being more violent than his brother, and that he killed his grandfather for being unreliable.

The fighting between members of the Guzmn family may continue according to a former chief of the Drug Enforcement Administration's Mexico bureau.

Mayo Zambada is a member of the Sinaloa Cartel. He said that he was too strong and respected to be fought by someone like Aureliano or Los Chapitos.

The leader of the Guadalajara federation, who was known as "Vigilance", said that the Sinaloa Cartel was the biggest in the world.

"Zambada is an intelligent man, keeping his low profile but at the same time keeping a pyramidal organization in the Sinaloa cartel," he said.

The war is on in the gangs.

Insider has learned that the Guzmn loera family's fight against El Mayo has already started in some parts of Mexico, after Mexican media reported that more than 17 groups of the Sinaloa Cartel were fighting for control.

The state of Durango is where Aureliano's, Zambada's, and Mochomito's groups are fighting.

"Zambada has his people fighting for Durango." The Fuerzas Especiales Barrera were attacked recently by the Los Guanos, an armed group, according to a source.

The source said that the order and the agreement keep things calm in the sacred territory of Sinaloa.

The Jalisco New Generation Cartel is the most powerful in Mexico, but there are more than 400 gangs inside the country. The "war against cartels" started by the right-wing Mexican President Felipe Calderon has led to their proliferation.

The Mexican security policy of 'hugs not gunshots' is not working. Mexico needs more cooperation with the US to fight criminal groups.
