GOP Rep. Devin Nunes resigns from Congress to become CEO of Trump’s media company

The House Intelligence Committee held a hearing on worldwide threats in Washington, D.C., in April of 2021.

The group said that the congressman will resign from Congress to become the CEO of the company.

In January, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee will become the CEO of Trump Media & Technology Group.

The press release came hours after it was revealed that the SEC contacted the SPAC weeks before the merger was announced. The SEC and another regulatory agency asked the DWAC for information about the lead-up to the deal.

DWAC shares were up more than 7% in after-hours trading after it was announced that Nunes would become the CEO.

A spokesman for the congressman did not respond to CNBC.
