Snap faster, hear better and do more with your Pixel

One of the sweetest things about being a Pixel user is that your phone continues to get a boost of helpfulness. We have an update for you that will allow you to quickly access Snapchat from your lock screen or control the bass levels on your Buds A-Series.

The latest feature drop will be rolling out to users over the next few weeks, starting today with updates coming to the 3a and 5a devices. Next week, the updates will begin for the devices.

Digital car key, ultra-wideband andSnapchat help.

When you use Quick Tap, you can change the actions you take, from taking a screenshot to playing music. The fastest phone to make a snap is the one with Quick Tap to snap. Quick Tap to snap is available on all of the newer Pixel phones. You will be able to add a new lens to your snaps this month. Future feature drops will have more Pixel-exclusive Lenses.

We have a partnership with BMW to enable digital car key for the two phones. You can start your car by pressing the engine start button on a select 2020-2022 BMW model in certain countries, and you can lock and unlock your car by tapping your phone on the door handle.

Ultra-wideband is enabled on the device. This technology improves Nearby Share so you can securely send files, videos, map locations and more to other ultra-wideband devices nearby.

Personalize your device.

The Sound Amplifier app has a feature called Conversation mode that is available in the early stages of accessibility. This feature uses machine learning to help anyone better hear conversations in loud environments by tuning into their conversation partner and tuning out competing noise. You can get a sneak peek at conversation mode as an early tester and help make it better for everyone.

Have you ever heard a song that is very popular, but you don't know what it is? The Now Playing experience has been updated to help you find your next favorite song. Automatic recognition is done on-device. If Now Playing doesn't automatically identify a song playing nearby, you can turn on the new search button to find it. If you really like it, smash the music note icon next to the track on your lock screen to save it as a favorite.

The on-screen experience is a simulation. Playing may not recognize every song.

The bass-level control for the Pixel Buds A-Series is being improved. You can adjust the bass range with the app on any device with the 6.0+ version of the OS.

We have also added a new wallpaper. In celebration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we collaborated with Dana Kearly, a disabled multidisciplinary artist from Vancouver B.C., to create three beautiful new wallpapers.

In addition to Spain, Ireland, Japan, the U.K., Australia, Singapore and the US, car crash detection is supported in Taiwan, Italy and France. If a crash is detected, your phone will check in with you to see if you are okay. If there isn't a response, Pixel can let emergency responders know your location. This feature is dependent on network connection and other factors, and may not be reliable for emergency communications or available in all areas.

Car crash detection is expanding to new countries, and we are also enabling new languages for transcription in the recorder app. There are Japanese, French and German on the newer phones.

You can learn more about these updates in our forum. Until our next feature drop!
