Through Tuesday, December 7, 2020, the hotel chain is offering a 50% discount on points. This bonus kicks in if you purchase at least 7,000 points in one transaction, and you can purchase up to 80,000 points with this offer.
How much does it cost to get a point from a hotel?
You can buy points for one cent before any discounts or bonuses. If you purchased 80,000 points and maxed them out, you would receive a total of 80,000 points for $400, which is a rate of 0.25 cents per point.
Usually when a promotion on points is offered, it is for either a 100% bonus or 50% discount, so this is in line with the best offers from the program.
How many points can you buy?
You can buy up to 80,000 points per account before any bonuses. There are promotions where the cap on how many points you can buy increases, but that is not the case right now.
If you buy points across accounts and then consolidate them, you can get more points by doing so. If you find yourself in a situation where a friend or family member is trying to get you a bigger bonus than you are, this could be useful.

Which credit card should you use?

Is it worth it?
It is possible to buy a huge amount of points with the help of theHiltonHonors points. The program sells points at a reasonable cost, has lots of aspirational properties, has good redemptions, and is easy to earn elite status with. Buying points can be a great deal if you combine those factors.
How many points do you need to get a free night at a hotel?
The program has dynamic award pricing, which is different from a published award chart. The cost of a standard free night award can vary depending on the day of the week, time of year, and so on.
The awards for free night are usually 10,000 points per night and go up to 95,000 points per night. The Los Cabos costs up to 120,000 points per night, and the Maldives costs up to 150,000 points per night.
Award costs can be much higher than these amounts. Premium rooms have higher prices because there is not a standard room available. That is not as good of a use of points.

There are many great hotels where you can redeem your points. The examples are based on current pricing and not the fifth night free.
