President Biden Restarts Tradition, Hosts Kennedy Center Honorees

President Biden was back in D.C., and he was back hosting the Kennedy Center honors.

The lifetime achievement award recipients were in attendance at the reception at the White House. Among those who were honored were: Lorne Michaels, Berry Gordy, Berry Gordy's son, Berry Gordy's daughter, and a few others.

There were a lot of high profile people on hand, including the First Lady, VP, Speaker, Steve Martin, David Letterman and others.

Biden went down a list of each person's contribution via their art and then praised them one by one. He shouted the name of Steven Sondheim, who died recently.

Each honoree had rainbow-colored ribbons around their neck and stood when called upon. The reception lasted less than an hour, but it meant a lot to people who hadn't seen it in a while.

After threats of a boycott came down in his first year in office, President Trump did not host any of the recipients.

Everyone was happy to get this going again in the presence of our Commander in Chief.
