John Harbaugh said injuries affected his decision to go for a potential game-winning 2-point conversion against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Lamar Jackson's pass on the 2-point conversion went off the left hand of tight end Mark Andrews as the Ravens fell to the Steelers 20-19.

Harbaugh was asked why he went for two instead of the PAT to force overtime. At that point in time, we were out of corners. It was a chance to win the game.

When trying to tackle Diontae Johnson on Pittsburgh's go-ahead, 5-yard touchdown, Ravens Pro Bowl CB Marlon Humphrey grabbed his left shoulder. The Ravens fear Humphrey suffered a season-ending injury on the play, according to a source.

Harbaugh said Humphrey will have an injury looked at.

He said it could be a while for him.

According to the research, the Baltimore went for two points over the kick.

Harbaugh's decision was supported by Jackson.

Jackson said he wanted to win. I didn't want to go to overtime.

Jackson hit Sammy Watkins for a 6-yard touchdown as the Ravens were trailing 20-13 in the fourth quarter. On the 2-point conversion, Jackson had to adjust his throw because Watt was in his face, and he was uncovered in the right flat.

Jackson is 3-of-10 on 2-point conversions. That's the second-worst conversion rate in the past 20 seasons among 40 players with 10-plus 2-point conversion attempts.

T.J. Watt has range. Jackson said that he's a long guy. I tried to make something happen by throwing around him. That's all. Just came up short.

The failed conversion was accepted by Andrews.

It was a good call, according to Andrews. I came wide open. I didn't make the play after Lamar threw a great ball.

In the past three seasons, teams are 3-for-8 on 2-point conversion attempts when down by one point. They are 10-of-23 in these situations.

Harbaugh was happy with the play call.

Harbaugh said it was a game of inches. You saw the speech by Al Pacino. There you go. That's sports. It's close.

This was the fourth time in five meetings that the game was decided by five points or less.

The Ravens were going for the win.

"They play a lot of data analysis," he said. They're predictable from that standpoint.

Pittsburgh scored on all three of its fourth-quarter drives and then lost its top corner in Humphrey. The Ravens were already dealing with injuries at the corner, with Anthony Averett, Tavon Young, and Jimmy Smith all missing at least one practice last week.

The Baltimore secondary has already dealt with season-ending injuries to two of their key players: Marcus Peters and DeShon Elliott.

"We've been dealing with stress all season, and we've still been able to overcome it, because we've got a lot of injuries," Williams said. We plan on doing that. The show must go on because it's a 'Next Man Up' mentality.

The Ravens still lead the division by one game despite the loss. The Baltimore Ravens (7-5) will play the Cleveland Browns (6-6) after a bye.
