The win might have come with a hefty price tag for the 2nd ranked women's basketball team, who beat Notre Dame 73-54 on Sunday.

The reigning national player of the year was injured in the waning moments of the victory. She will get an exam in the next few days.

The sophomore star collapsed to the floor with under a minute left in the game and had to be carried to the bench by two teammates.

In the team's win over Notre Dame, Bueckers suffered a left knee injury.

Geno Auriemma said, "You immediately put yourself in that kid's shoes." That's the part that really hurts you. The initial report is that she might have hyperextended it, but I think the first thing that goes through your mind is the worst thing.

Bueckers scored 22 points on the day. She had four assists and five steals. Bueckers had played every minute of the game until she was injured. When asked why she was still on the floor, Auriemma was candid.

"I don't know why she was in the game," Auriemma said. I don't like our team without her on the court.
