The return of three familiar, villainous faces to the "Spider-Man" franchise is one of the things fans can expect from "Spider-Man: No Way Home."
The three actors who play Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and Electro in the upcoming film came together publicly for the first time on Saturday to talk about the film.
In 2002's "Spider-Man" and its sequel, Dafoe and Molina appeared, as did Foxx in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2."
In their interview with fan hosts at Comic-Con Experience, the trio talked about their new costumes for the film and how technological improvements helped create new looks for the villains.
"We're actors so you forget about the uncomfortable costumes, and they looked good," he said. The new costumes are more comfortable.
The actor teased the new design, saying it's more flexible and includes a few upgrades. A glimpse of the Goblin in "No Way Home" was shown in a new TV spot.
Since his first outing as the villain, Dafoe has promoted the " huge leap in the technology". The fitting for the 2002 Sam Raimi-directed film was where he stood for eight hours while his suit was attached to his body. The outfit for the Goblin was created using 3D-scan Dafoe's figure.
When the idea was first suggested, I was 17 years old. I've got chins, I've gotwrinkle, what are they going to do? "I said so." I suddenly realized that they have the technology, this isn't going to be a problem.
The computer-generated effects of Doctor Octopus' famous tentacles in "No Way Home" are confirmed by Molina. The actor in "Spider-Man 2" had mechanical tentacles attached to his body.
"This 'new new' is fly," said Foxx, who starred in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2."
"Amy was telling me that it was going to be hot." As far as my character's concerned, I didn't have to be blue. It was going to be hip.
The actor said his original costume was not a big deal because he was happy to be part of the project, but he thought his updated look was more comfortable and modern.
The actors spoke about why they decided to come back and praised the direction of the film. The characters will have more depth this time around.
