Joe Brady was fired by the team after just his second season.

Matt Rhule told Joe that he had decided to make a change. I'm very grateful to him for his time and effort in helping us get established.

According to Joe Person of The Athletic, senior offensive assistant Jeff Nixon, who was the play-caller at Baylor when Rhule was the head coach of the Bears, will take over as offensive coordinators.

Under Brady, the team finished in the top half of points per game and yards per game last season, but they came into Sunday ranked just 28th in yards and 23rd in points per contest.
Those struggles can't be put at Brady's feet.

The team's best offensive weapon has been taken away due to injuries, as Christian McCaffrey has played in just 10 of a possible 28 games over the past two seasons. Teddy Bridgewater was the quarterback for Carolina last year.

Joe Brady was fired by the Carolinas. Maybe it was justified. Joe Brady isn't the person who decided to trade for QB Sam Darnold, guarantee his 5th-year option, sign CamNewton off the street, and immediately put him in the lineup and think it would help.

Brady never achieved the balance that Rhule was looking for in his offense.

Matt Rhule wanted the panthers to rush a lot. They had 16 rushes in their last game. Joe Brady never found the right balance.

In January, Joe Brady had five head coaching interviews. Two years in a row, the #Panthers have been one of the league's least productive offenses and there were signs that Brady and Matt Rhule weren't on the same page. Changes come off the bye with Brady out.

When did Matt Rhule want Joe Brady to call more runs? Is it possible to lose 33-10 to Miami or 24-6 to New England?

The future of the quarterback position is one of the fundamental issues on the offense. Scott Fitterer and Rhule have to solve that.
After their Week 13 bye, the 11th-ranked Carolinas will try to get back into the playoffs with Nixon running the offense.

Brady, the former LSU passing-game coach who helped the Tigers claim a national championship in the 2019 season, will likely get a lot of interest in the college game as an offensive coach.
