Sexual misconduct allegation against CNN’s Chris Cuomo led to his firing, attorney says

Chris Cuomo is a television journalist.

Chris Cuomo was fired from CNN after being accused of sexual harassment, according to an attorney.

After Cuomo made comments on-air about caring about sexual harassment issues, a client came forward and said that Cuomo helped his brother, Andrew Cuomo, respond to sexual harassment allegations.

The client retained counsel to report Cuomo's sexual harassment against her to CNN, after hearing the hypocrisy of Cuomo's on-air words.

She reported the allegations to CNN and offered to provide proof.

The client came forward because she felt she could help protect other women.

Steven Goldberg denied the allegations in a statement.

Chris Cuomo stood by his on-air statements about his connection to these issues, both professionally and in a profoundly personal way. Goldberg said that if the goal was to see Mr. Cuomo punished by CNN, that may explain his unwarranted dismissal.

Chris Cuomo was fired by the news network after new information came to light about how he helped his brother with damage control during the sexual harassment scandal.

The New York state Attorney General released documents showing that Chris Cuomo had a larger role in advising Andrew Cuomo than previously known.

Brian Schwartz was a contributor to the report.
