Station Eleven has a female star in it.
Max is on the show.
I finished The Beatles: Get Back, but even though it meandered a lot, I wanted more. The Wall Street Journal captures what it was like to be a fan of the Beatles, like we were just hanging out with John, Paul, George, and Ringo as they worked on new material. It will make you question some of the prevailing narratives about the Fab Four, like the belief that they were at each other's throats constantly as the band neared its break up.
Also! The sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse got some late-breaking news on Saturday. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be a two-parter, with part one being released in October of 2022, and part two in 2023. Hit that link to watch the first trailer.
There are new trailers for a few movies and shows, as well as a new series about people living in a post-pandemic world.
Station 11.
Station Eleven is a series about the aftermath of a real-world Pandemic. A band of performers travels the post- apocalyptic landscape staging performances and meeting all manner of survivors, including a mysterious person known as The Prophet, twenty years after most of the population was wiped out by the Georgia flu. The internet, Nintendo, and a car key are some of the 21st-century relics on display in a museum of civilization. The Before and After Times are both about a child actress who gets the flu and is played by a grown up. Station Eleven, which stars Himesh Patel, David Wilmot, Nabhaan Rizwan, Daniel Zovatto, and others, will be on the air on December 16th.
The Matrix is back.
I watched this trailer a few times since it came out and did a quick review, but I didn't give it a full review. We don't get a lot of insight into the movie's plot, except that a main element will be "Change." I hope the movie rolls with the idea that this isn't the story we think it is. The Matrix: Resurrections, starring Neil Patrick Harris, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Jessica Henwick, will be released on December 22nd.
There is a book about the book of Boba Fett.
The new video begins, "I am Boba Fett, left for dead on the sands of Tatooine." We see our main character submerged in a Bacta tank with a breathing apparatus attached to his face, likely explaining what happened to him after he drank sarlacc in Return of the Jedi. A few characters are surprised to see Boba in the new video. Disney Plus will show The Book of Boba Fett on December 29th.
A peacemaker.
We got a full trailer for the Peacemaker series in October. John Cena reprises his role from The Suicide Squad, but he is teaming up with a bunch of weird people to try to keep the peace. The trailer shows Peacemaker questioning what he is really doing and why. Peacemaker, which stars John Cena, Robert Patrick, Freddie Stroma, Danielle Brooks, Steve Agee, and Chukwudi Iwuji, will be released on January 13th.
The studio is called 666.
The Foo Fighters are recording a new album in a haunted mansion and some evil and bloody hijinks occur. We don't get a lot of clues about the plot, but we can see Dave Grohl get the demon eyes and start levitating, along with a glimpse of monsters, an ostensibly evil book, and other supernatural flicks. It looks silly and fun. The film, which stars Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, and Rami Jaffee, will be released on February 25th.
