The first Group of 5 team in the history of the College Football Playoff will play for the national title, as the committee revealed the top four teams.

Alabama will play Cincinnati in the Cotton Bowl on New Year's Eve, while Michigan will play Georgia in the Capital One Orange Bowl. The national championship game will be played in Indianapolis.

The committee's top four remained the same, but were shuffled after the conference title games Saturday.

The one-loss Tide was catapulted to the top spot after its dominant performance in the SEC championship game. The Big Ten championship game between Michigan and Iowa solidified the Wolverines as the second ranked team. Georgia dropped to 3 because of its loss, but it also stayed behind Michigan because it didn't have a conference title, and the Wolverines defeated the Hawkeyes so soundly.

Cincinnati, which won a school-record 13 games, capped its resume with a convincing 35-20 win against Houston in the American Athletic Conference championship game. The highest ranked Group of 5 conference champion will play in the New Year's Six bowl.

The Cincinnati team finished 13-0, becoming the second team in the history of the American Athletic Conference to do so.

Ohio State and Notre Dame finished in the top six.
