Alabama will head into the playoffs as the top ranked team in the nation.

The Alabama football team reclaimed the top spot in The Associated Press college football poll on Sunday after beating Georgia.

Alabama, which was the top ranked team in the first six weeks of the season, jumped three spots after winning the SEC title game.

The media panel gave Alabama 50 of 62 first-place votes. The team fell to 3.

Michigan won the Big Ten Conference championship for the first time in a decade and was ranked second for a second straight week. 9 first-place votes went to the Wolverines.

Cincinnati is only four points behind Georgia and received three first-place votes. The only remaining team in the country that's perfect is the Bearcats.

The teams expected to hold the top four spots in the College Football Playoff field were to be announced later Sunday.

Notre Dame moved up a spot while idle, and Baylor moved up three places after winning the Big 12 Conference title.

Ole Miss and Oklahoma State dropped out of the top 10 after the loss to Baylor.
