Jesse Marsch: RB Leipzig sack manager after four months in charge

Red Bull Salzburg had two league and cup doubles from Jesse Marsch.

Jesse Marsch was dismissed as manager of RB Leipzig after just four months.

The American was appointed in April and started in the role in the summer.

The team have won just five games this season and are 11th in the table.

Achim Beierlorzer will be the assistant coach for the game against Manchester City.

Oliver Mintzlaff said it was not easy to part company with Jesse Marsch, because he holds him in high regard.

It is a shame that things didn't work out as we had hoped, and that this step has become necessary.

Marsch said he was hopeful that after a troubled start to the season and inconsistent performances, we would find more stability as a group and turn our fortunes around.

After a discussion with Oliver Mintzlaff, we decided to change the coaching position.
